Setup Outlook 2000
This tutorial shows you how to set up Microsoft Outlook 2000® to work with your e-mail account. This tutorial focuses on setting up Microsoft Outlook 2000, but these settings are similar in other versions of Microsoft Outlook. You can set up previous versions of Microsoft Outlook by using the settings in this tutorial.- Open up Microsoft Outlook 2000
- Click Tools on the Menu bar then select Accounts

- Click Add and then selectMail

- Enter in your name and click Next

- Specify the Email address that you want others to reply or send mail to you with. Click Next.

- Set Email Server Names as follows:
- Incoming mail server = POP3
- Incoming mail (POP3) server = mail.alpinewebsites.com
- Outgoing mail (SMTP) server = mail.alpinewebsites.com

- Enter user account name and password. Click Next
- Account name = your email address
- Password = your password
- Make sure log on using Secure Password Authentication is unchecked.

- Select your appropriate internet connection. Click Next.

- If using a modem, click use an existing dial-up connection. Click Next.
- Click Finish.

- Left click on your account name so it is highlighted. Then click Properties.

- In the Properties window, make sure mail account is mail.alpinewebsites.com Place a check in the box next to include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing. Click on the Servers tab to continue.

- Under the Outgoing Mail Server heading, place a check mark in the box next to My server requires authentication. Click on the Advanced tab to continue.

- Check the Server Port Numbers then click OK.
- Outgoing mail (SMTP) = 8025
- Incoming mail (POP3) = 110

- Click on Close in the Internet Accounts window.
